TD Proud of our Pride Program

TD Bank Group is dedicated to identifying meaningful ways to support members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. To ensure these voices are heard, TD will provide the Halifax Pride Society with a $35,000 grant to distribute to smaller, local, 2SLGBTQ+ organizations throughout Atlantic Canada for the creation of their own queer community events. Together with Halifax Pride, TD is proud to support those who wish to create and host 2SLGBTQ+ events in Atlantic Canada. The goal of the TD Proud of our Pride Program is to help 2SLGBTQ+ communities make their events a reality.

TD Proud of our Pride Program applicants must:

  • Be a 2SLGBTQ+ focused individual, non-profit society, or adhoc group

  • Be located in Atlantic Canada

  • Submit events that primarily benefit 2SLGBTQ+ community members

  • Hold their event prior to December 31st, 2022

  • Not have received TD Bank Group funding in the last 12 months

Event examples might include a film screening, drag show, workshop, picnic, game night, community march, guest speaker, etc.

Funding

The TD Proud of our Pride program offers up to $1,500 in financial support. Successful applicants will receive 75% of the funds upon approval and the remaining 25% upon receipt of a final report.

Application Process

Deadline for applications is 5:00 pm on Friday, July 1, 2022. Applicants will be notified of decisions by email within two weeks. Applications that meet the following priority features are more likely to receive full funding:

  • Organized by and/or focusing on QTBIPOC and gender non-conforming communities

  • Free events

  • Provide robust accessibility plans

  • New events

  • Feature multiple community partners and/or additional funding sources

Selection Process

TD Proud of our Pride funding decisions will be made by a committee of volunteers who will independently review submitted applications and record whether the applications meet the program criteria and priorities. The committee will then meet to review their findings and determine levels of approved funding based on an application's eligibility, alignment with program goals, priority features, and available funding.

A representative from Halifax Pride will notify applicants of the panel’s decisions. All decisions are final.

Final Report

Following the event, all approved applicants must complete a final report within 60 days to receive the remainder of approved funds. The final report will be an online form requesting information on outcomes of the event, promotional documentation, and lessons learned.
