Halifax Pride State OPPRESSION Statement

Halifax Pride is deeply disturbed by the plight of Palestinian and Colombian people and the injustice under which they currently suffer. Acknowledging we live in a settler state, the Halifax Pride Society stands in solidarity with Black and Indigenous peoples to end violence and systemic racism. This solidarity extends to those facing state and military oppression abroad. Halifax Pride calls for an end to oppression and supports the struggle for rights domestically and worldwide. We call on those in the 2SLGBTQ+ community to inform themselves of these struggles and recognize that queer liberation is intrinsically linked to the liberation of all racialized, marginalized, and oppressed peoples across the globe.
