The Halifax Pride Festival is proud to offer Intersessions: An Inclusive Sound Initiative: Providing Safer Spaces For Women + LGBTQ+ Folks, hosted by Chippy Nonstop. This seminar aims to address the significant gender and sexuality based imbalance within the music industry, offering DJ and sound focused workshops for women, and those within the LGBTQ+ spectrum.
Intersessions provides safe spaces for participants to support one another, access equipment, receive mentorship and build community. We strive to promote diversity through access, support and the power of music.
The workshop will take place at Alteregos, at 2193 Gottingen Street on Friday, July 28th, 2017, from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. The maximum number of participants will be 10, so make sure you register soon! Registration is required and admission ($10 or pay what you can) will be accepted at the door. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
