Volunteers are the keystone of Halifax Pride and with your help, we make the festival a reality every year.
In 2015, over 100 community members and allies joined us to host events, greet thousands of guests and coordinate one of the premier pride festivals in Canada. Now it’s your chance to help us Make Pride Happen!
By volunteering with Halifax Pride, you become part of a team dedicated to celebrating and commemorating Nova Scotia’s LGBTQ+ history and culture. Whether your reason for volunteering is to learn more about our vibrant community or complete volunteer hours, there are many opportunities to explore.
Halifax Pride has open roles whether you’re interested in volunteering year-round or just for a few hours during the Parade.
Festival and Event Volunteers work alongside Team Leads to help set-up and run the events and initiatives that make Halifax Pride a fabulous event. Whether you are hoping to assemble stages, direct floats, or greet our guests, there’s a spot for you. Festival/Event Volunteers will sign-up to volunteer for a few hours at an event or during the festival. No experience is necessary, but a short training session in the weeks before the parade is required.
This year, we’re looking for volunteers in the following areas:
To sign-up to be a Volunteer, please complete this form and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
Team Leads volunteer year-round on a major initiative or portfolio within the Halifax Pride Festival. Reporting to the Board of Directors, Team Leads will not only have a key stake in shaping the festival, but will also have the opportunity to manage volunteers at events and during the festival. Team Leads will commit 2-5 hours of work per week in the months leading up to the Festival.
We currently have no available Team Lead opportunities for 2016.
If you’re interested in becoming a Team Lead, please email our Volunteer Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
