Halifax Pride Festival and Concert

July 24 2010

3:00 pm until 6:00 pm

This is Halifax Pride’s 23rd Annual Post Parade Concert.  This year we have secured an up and coming artist from St. Louis, MO.  Summer Osborne has opened for Indigo Girls, played St. Louis Pride and has just released her 5th? CD and is in the top picks to perform at Lilith Fair.  Summer opens for Marlee Walchuk & Tully Callender a Vancouver duo that goes by the name Sugarbeach.   This lesbian Aussie/Canadian duo pack dance floors with their “electroni-lesbi-pop”.  Sugarbeach has played Vancouver Pride 2009, 2010 Winter Olympic Pride House, and the New York City Pride Rally.  This year's closing act is the Cliks. It's remarkable that something so good can come from feeling so bad. As is the case of most great art, Toronto trio the Cliks have dredged the emotional mire of the past two years to create Dirty King, a rich rock extravaganza showcasing a sonic expansion for the band. With music as textured and layered as the deeply varied emotional terrain it treads, feeling bad never sounded so good. Performances with Cyndi Lauper and on MTV2. This year’s lineup promises to be a "not to be missed" event.
